The Partnership for Public Service
The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works.
The Partnership’s Web site contains information useful to potential federal job applicants and also to federal managers, policy officials, and others interested in transforming the federal workplace into one characterized by a high-performing, committed workforce.
Among the major initiatives of the Partnership for Public Service are the Service to America Medals which honors outstanding federal employees who have made significant contributions to our country; the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings; Call to Serve, a national initiative to help re-establish links between federal agencies and more than 650 college campuses; and the Annenberg Leadership Institute, which prepares federal leaders to solve national challenges by driving innovation, inspiring employees and delivering results.
As of February 15, 2009, the Council for Excellence in Government (CEG) ceased operations and its marquee programs and a majority of the CEG staff were transferred to the Partnership, including the CEG Fellows program, coordination of Public Service Recognition Week, and the Senior Advisor for Government Executives (SAGE) forums for incoming CFO’s, CIO’s, and CAO’s.

Notable Quotes

However, developing comprehensive, effective performance management and reporting is a long term project that has only begun.”
John Koskinen, Deputy Director for Management, Office of Management and Budget, William J. Clinton Administration
“The Federal Government is results-oriented. We ask ourselves if we're accomplishing the desired result at an acceptable cost. If the answer is "no" or "we don't know," we are committed to do something about it. This volume contributes to our continuing effort to improve government’s results for the American people.”
Clay Johnson III, Deputy Director for Management, Office of Management and Budget, George W. Bush Administration
