The Senior Executives Association is a nonprofit professional association
that promotes ethical and dynamic public service by fostering an outstanding
career executive corps, advocates the interests of career federal executives
(both active and retired), and provides information and services to
SEA members.
Since its founding, SEA has had as its mission to:
- Improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the federal
government.
- Advance the professionalism of career executives.
- Advocate the interests of career federal executives, especially
members of SEA.
- Enhance public recognition of the contributions of federal career
executives.
Member Benefits related to the Coalition:
- The Presidential Distinguished Rank Award Banquet, sponsored by
the SEA Professional Development League, honors the recipients of
the Presidential Distinguished Rank Award of Distinguished Executive,
the nation's highest civil service award. Each year, the President
of the United States recognizes a maximum of 1 percent of the members
of the Senior Executive Service for outstanding achievements in public
service as well as a proportionate number of senior-level (SL) and
scientific and professional (ST) executives.
- In contrast to the celebratory nature of the Association's black-tie
banquet honoring the winners, the Morning of Reflections is convened
to bring the Distinguished Executives together to reflect upon their
careers and experiences.
- Action Newsletter, published monthly, which contains timely information
on legislative, administrative and judicial issues affecting federal
executives.
- The SEA Job Bank, is a place where members can post resumes for
confidential review by select private sector companies searching out
top talent from the federal executive ranks.
