The Partnership for Public Service
www.ourpublicservice.org

The Partnership for Public Service works to make the government an employer of choice for talented, dedicated Americans through educational outreach, research, legislative advocacy, and hands-on partnerships with agencies on workforce management issues. It seeks to inspire a new generation to serve and to help build a federal workforce that will meet the challenges of the 21st century. The Partnership’s website contains information useful to potential federal job applicants and also to federal managers, policy officials, and others interested in transforming the federal workplace into one characterized by a high-performing, committed workforce.

In late 2004, the Private Sector Council (PSC) merged with the Partnership for Public Service. PSC was created by David Packard of Hewlett-Packard in 1983 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization to help improve the management, efficiency and productivity of the federal government. PSC shares the expertise of leading Fortune 500 executives with federal agency leaders to help improve the services government provides to the nation.

Among the major initiatives of the Partnership for Public Service are the Service to America Medals which celebrates the people who serve our nation; the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government ranking over 180 federal organizations and providing relevant information about each of them; Call to Serve, a national initiative to help re-establish links between federal agencies and college campuses; a Solutions Center on the Partnership’s website containing promising innovations and lessons learned across federal organizations on specific HR topic areas; and research reports and issue papers on federal HR issues and topics.
